No one is commenting :( I specifically asked for people's comments about Christmas! You can ignore the book if you like. My new computerised library software arrived. I have spent the day blissfully labelling and scanning ISBN barcodes. Comment! Please?

That's scary. I was wondering why I hadn't seen any updates on your site for a while, and I decided to look just a few minutes ago, and realised that you had posted a new entry just minutes before I had looked.

I haven't really got much to comment, but that shouldn't stop you writing random stuff! People do read your blog :)

Regarding that software, how are you scanning barcodes in - with a proper scanner, or with a webcam like thing? Must be slow with a proper scanner...?

Of course, when I say 'proper scanner' I don't mean a proper barcode scanner, I mean like a flatbed scanner to scan paper :)

Oooh, book cataloguing! (I bet they smell nice. The new books... Not the computers or the software... That would be weird...)

I want to read the next chapter, Danielle - definitely keep working on your book! :-)

As for Christmas... It's approaching at a rate of knots, work is absolutely mental at the moment and I'm nowhere near ready for it... These things are stressing me out somewhat.

I suspect I will spend most of the week between Christmas and New Year fast asleep in my bed, desperately trying to regain some energy having undergone the stress of cooking my first ever Christmas turkey.

Somehow I'm sure a bit pile of nice red wine will keep me going :-)

Of course, what I meant to say was a big pile of red wine, not a bitpile of red wine...

One day I'll master the art of proof reading :-)

I meant to reply to your message, Gem. Are you doing a proper christmas on your own (Rather than letting your parents, or in my case Matt's parents, take over.) That's very brave. Try not to worry. I'm sure it will be delicious. Your cooking usually is.

Christmas is the season of booze! Hooray for booze!

Sid,
It is an actual barcode scanner...It just needs the ISBN no scanned in and then it brings up the book information from an online database thingy.
It's just like tescos!

I'm very glad people are reading.
Hope you are well.

Yep, doing Christmas myself this year. I've made a Christmas cake and everything... Lots of work. A bit scary, really. *And* the whole family is coming over for New Year for a special meal too...

I'm sure I'll live, but at the moment, all I'm doing is making lists and lists and lists and I'm still certain I'll forget umpteen bits and pieces!
